First run
Six steps from installed to your first lesson.
1. Start the app
Section titled “1. Start the app”The control panel appears. It is a graphical shell that starts and stops the backend — it starts the same backend and reimplements nothing.
2. Choose a data folder
Section titled “2. Choose a data folder”The panel suggests ~/ilearnassist; click to accept it, or pick somewhere else.
This is where your database, workspaces and uploads will live. The panel remembers your choice.
3. Create a superadmin
Section titled “3. Create a superadmin”Pick a username and password. This is the highest-privilege account on the machine — remember it.
If you forget it: the control panel has Reset administrator password, and it works with the server stopped.
4. Open the app
Section titled “4. Open the app”The server starts automatically. Click Open app, then sign in with the account you just created.
5. Paste a model API key
Section titled “5. Paste a model API key”Go to Platform console → Model services, pick a provider you already have access to, paste its API key and save.
6. Start learning
Section titled “6. Start learning”Go back to the home screen, create a workspace, open a conversation, choose the Guided Learning assistant, and tell it what you want to learn.
How it teaches: Guided Learning.
